Rossano Gentili is an Italian composer, songwriter, producer, and production music specialist with a career spanning both the recording industry and music for visual media.
He first became known to the Italian public as a founding member, musician, and one of the principal songwriters of Dirotta su Cuba, contributing to much of the band's repertoire and developing a strong background in songwriting, arrangement, performance, and record production.
Over the years, his work gradually expanded into production music. Approximately 15 years ago, he created Gentle Jammers, his production music project dedicated to filmmakers, videomakers, podcasters, agencies, brands, and digital creators. Through Gentle Jammers, he has built a catalogue of more than 2,500 original compositions covering cinematic, corporate, ambient, jazz, documentary, acoustic, electronic, and contemporary styles.
His music has been used in projects for international and Italian brands, agencies, filmmakers, publishers, and content creators. His commercial work includes several projects for Ferrari, including music for Formula 1 car unveilings and social media content, as well as music created for Ducati, Philip Morris, Pagani Automobili, Robe di Kappa, Banco di Napoli, Prima Assicurazioni, Caffè Cagliari, Ariostea, Iris Ceramica, and other brands.
He has also worked on projects connected with chef Massimo Bottura, luxury hospitality brand Casa Costa, Gruppo Panini Cultura, Haltadefinizione, and the Rome Book Fair. His work extends beyond advertising into documentaries, branded films, podcasts, publishing, apps, and children's media, including music for the official app dedicated to the much-loved Italian character Pimpa and documentary work with Pongo Films.
This range of experience has shaped a practical approach to composition. Rather than treating production music simply as music written to sound good, Rossano approaches each piece in relation to the job it has to perform: supporting a story, defining a brand identity, creating the right emotional context, leaving space for dialogue, or helping an editor make a scene work.
